Format guide

  • JPG — best for photographs. Smaller file size, no transparency. Some quality loss at compression.
  • PNG — best for graphics, screenshots, logos. Supports transparency. Larger file than JPG for photos.
  • WebP — modern format with better compression than JPG and PNG. Supported by all modern browsers.

Quality setting

Applies to JPG and WebP only. 90% is a good default. Lower values reduce file size but introduce more visible compression artefacts. PNG is always lossless.
