How to crop PDF margins

Upload your PDF, enter the margin size to remove from each side in points, and click Crop. The crop box is applied to every page.

What is a point?

PDF dimensions use points (pt) as the unit. 1 point = 0.353 mm = 1/72 inch. An A4 page is 595 × 842 points. A typical margin to remove is 20–50 points.

Will content be cut off?

If you crop too aggressively, content near the edges will be hidden. Start with small values (20pt) and increase if needed.

Frequently asked questions

Common questions about this tool.

Does cropping delete content?

No. Cropping sets a crop box which hides content outside it, but the data is still in the file. It is non-destructive.

Can I set different crops for different pages?

Not currently — the same crop is applied to every page.

What values should I use?

For scanned documents with large white borders, try 40–60pt on each side.
