How to convert Word to PDF

Upload your .docx file and click Convert. The document is converted to HTML using mammoth.js, then a print dialog opens so you can save it as a PDF using your browser's built-in Print to PDF feature.

What is preserved?

  • Text and paragraphs — fully preserved.
  • Headings — H1, H2, H3 structure.
  • Tables — basic table structure.
  • Bold and italic — inline formatting.
  • Images — embedded images.

What is not preserved?

Complex Word features like headers, footers, page numbers, text boxes, and custom fonts may not convert perfectly. For critical documents, Microsoft Word's built-in Save As PDF option gives the most faithful result.

Privacy

Your document is processed by mammoth.js entirely in your browser. No file is sent to any server.

Frequently asked questions

Common questions about this tool.

Why does a print dialog open?

The conversion renders your document as HTML then uses the browser's print function to create a PDF. In the dialog, choose 'Save as PDF' or 'Microsoft Print to PDF' as the destination.

What if the formatting looks wrong?

Complex Word formatting may not convert perfectly in the browser. For the most accurate conversion, use Word's built-in Save As PDF.

Does it support .doc files?

No — only .docx format is supported. Open the .doc file in Word and save as .docx first.
